"X-POSURE" REVIEWS
"Here we have something
special, because the first official KAMERA CD is filled with high quality
pure 80s AOR... In fact, this CD has an unbelievable start which
simply blows away the latest JOURNEY release! This is AOR like it used to
be made, which means big sounding bombastic AOR with lovely melodies in
the guitar sound, catchy hooks and melodic memorable choruses, cheerful
keys and all packed in mostly mid to up-tempo rock songs. ... This is more
like it and highly recommended to any AOR fan! ...only thing to do
if you're a fan of classic AOR, buy this CD a.s.a.p. to finally hear out
of the underground/ independent scene from the USA a band playing True
Classic 80s hook-laden AOR! " -

"One of the things I love most are those instances of stumbling across the
occasional CD by an unfamiliar band and discovering some amazing music
contained within. It just makes things even cooler when that band happens
to be from right here in the region. That very thing happened just last
week. The CD that did the trick this time was a 14-song collection titled,
"X-Posure," by the Northwest Indiana group Kamera. The Kamera sound is
best described as being classic arena rock. Fans of such
keyboard-guitar-driven bands will love Kamera's CD, which is largely
powered by the nimble digits of guitarist-keyboardist Vince Michaels. The
lead vocals of Greg Flores are rich, vibrant and wide ranged, like the
best album rock singers of that genre's glory days." -

"Still
waiting for that Europe reunion record? No release date yet, but in
the meantime, check out the debut from Chicago rockers
Kamera. Let the ’80s stadium rock references flow — there’s
no denying the influences of Kamera’s synth-laden, screeching
anthemic rock. The cool thing is they actually have the talent to
pull it off, including the soaring vocals of Greg Flores that can be
both appropriately heart-wrenching (on the power ballads) and
commanding (on the rockers). And these guys stay true to their
identity through the entire 70 minutes — so good luck resisting the
temptation to pull out your air guitar, keyboard, and drums." -

"The first half of the album is very good in the long run
this is a great AOR-release with lots of good songs. So Marshall Barber,
Greg Flores, Terry Holder, Vince Michaels and Scott Nobles has done a fine
AOR debut album that must be checked out by a true AOR fan. One song was
produced by Jim Bartz and the rest has been handled by the band with a
good result. A couple of minor adjustments to the next album then this
band will be a new big AOR-sensation. Still this is a very good album." -

"This established fact jumps to the ears on the first title, splendid
Chance and its bed of absolutely sumptuous keyboards, gorged with
emotion..." -

"It must be something that they put in the Chicago water, as I've
unearthed another top class act, as the current cream of the Chicago
scene. There name is Kamera, and the album is called "X-Posure". It's full
of uplifting, anthemic old-school AOR, the likes of which you rarely get
to hear these days. The main reference points would have to be Sugarcreek,
with a hint of Harlan Cage. The Sugarcreek reference is is there for all
to see on the likes of "Chasing Shadows" and "Stop Making Trouble". Their
keyboard driven rock is an abject lesson, to a lot of UK bands, in how to
do this type of music with both style and flair. Vocalist Greg Flores,
he's hugely reminiscent of L.A Greene (Fortune, Harlan Cage) which is
clearly evident on album opener "Chance", does a fantastic job, as do the
rest of the band members. This is AOR with all the right Ingredients, in
all the right places." -
